Bad credit personal loans

Usually, personal loans have high interest rates and getting them is an easier task. If you have a bad credit history then getting a personal loan would be difficult. The requirements for bad credit personal loans normally are:

  • The age of the person must be above 18 years.
  • Must be in employment for a minimum of three consecutive loans.
  • A net income of at least $ 1200 per month.
  • Have a checking account for the past 3 months.

There are two types of personal loans available for people with a bad credit history:

  1. Non-secured bad credit personal loan: The borrower does not pledge any collateral for the loan amount. The interest rates on the non secured loan are very high as the risk involved to the principal amount is very high. As there is no collateral the risk involved is very high and if payments are not made towards the loan on time then the lender will turn the loan over to a collection agency.
  2. Secured bad credit personal loan: The borrower will have to pledge some collateral against the loan. If the borrower does not pay the loan the lender has the right to sell to help pay for the outstanding loan balance. The interest rates are low compared to non secured bad credit personal loan.

Most of the time personal loans are non-secured. Personal loans are for short term lending like medical purposes, purchasing furniture, home furnishing etc. It is advised that availing personal loans should not become a habit; it should be availed only in case of an emergency.
