Debt Management

A debt management program would be very helpful for a person having financial problems. Quite often, this program is provided for free by credit counselors. They do not charge for this service.

To arrange a debt management program there are some important things which are required:

  1. A full evaluation of your financial position is analyzed. To know about this there are certain things which are required like regular income and expenditure and the amount of outstanding money (credit).
  2. After collecting this information and preparing a financial statement it can be decided how much you can afford to pay your creditors monthly.
  3. The creditors are approached and they normally accept the new reduced payments. Mostly the creditors are happy and agree to the payment plan.
  4. You can then make a single monthly payment and all your creditors are paid accordingly (pro rata). Every penny is paid to your creditors.
  5. Throughout the plan you can discuss about finance details with the credit officer who will help you in the matter.
  6. Your plan can be reviewed at regular intervals and even monthly payment arrangements can be made.
  7. The plan will continue to exist until all your debts are cleared.

Most of the time when people get a raise in income, they withdraw this plan and start paying the original monthly payments to their creditors. Normally there are no fees for this service and you don't need to pay any kind of deposits. This is a good service that can be utilized by people who are neck deep in credit.
