Getting Credit Report - Check Thoroughly
Credit reports can be availed from three credit reporting agencies, viz., Equifax, Experian, and Trans-Union. These three credit bureaus do not exchange their credit reports. Each of the three has different information and it depends upon who has reported and what was reported to them. What information one has will differ from another. So while getting a credit report you need to make sure that you are getting it from the right credit bureau.
When you get a credit report it is not easy to understand it fully. You have to learn on how to read a credit report. They might even have errors even though it is not your fault. If you have a bad credit then you pay high interest rates for your loan and mortgage. Nowadays credit checks are also done by employers before hiring a person. Landlords, phone companies, car dealers, mortgagers, credit unions, finance companies, banks etc have access to your credit report.
Most of the time people don't know their credit rating and even don't know how a good credit report can help them in getting loans at very low interest rates. People don't know what's mentioned in their credit report; there could be mistakes or errors without even their knowledge. Many errors can be removed by a phone call. Earlier Experian used to send the credit report for free, but now they have stopped that program. You can now get a free credit report from Equifax, Experian, and Trans-Union if your credit is turned down or else you need to pay $8 to get a complete credit report. Spending $8 is not a big deal!
