Remove Credit Report

Credit reports are provided by credit bureaus. There are three credit bureaus in the United States namely, Experian, Trans-Union and Equifax. The credit reports provide a rating based on your credit history. Your credit rating signifies your credit worthiness. The more the credit rating the better deals you get. However, sometimes errors occur in credit reports and your credit rating could get affected. To remove credit report errors you need to fill out a form and wait for the error to be removed from your credit report.

No credit bureau can refuse looking into the error. They have to check the error if you fill out the form and come back with their response. However, with the workload that they have, it usually takes at least 60 days for an error to get rectified.

Usually errors in the credit report could be in the personal information part. Such errors could include spelling mistakes in your name, name of spouse, residential address, employer's address etc. These errors usually do not make any difference to your credit ratings. The errors that could cause harm to your credit ratings lie in the credit history information of your credit report.

The credit history information includes information such as the name of the creditor, when the credit was availed, the loan type, the amount of the loan, the present balance and the status of the loan, whether active, inactive etc. Discrepancies or errors in this part could really hamper a person's credit rating and it is necessary to check properly and get any errors removed from your credit report.
